What a great ‘cuppla dayz…and what a beautiful venue, ’cept for the fact that it’s at a state park, which gives the FIVE’0 the right to patrol unabashed. Booo….and I guess it would’a sucked if’n I were stuck campin all the way out at those lots that one needed to board a freakin bus to get to the show. That’s dumb. But that wasn’t my problem cuz I parked meself right behind the statue of P.T. Barnum. ‘bout 100meters from the main entrance. What a great spot…and good for slingin too!! Made over 5hundy in cig sales alone!!

Thanks godz they didn’t have an issue w/ camera’s cuz I shot some 2000 photo’s [some of’m actually came out pretty good too!!] my propensity at getting close to the front and center lends itself well to good closeups I’ve discovered!! Me thinks that I’ll start a photo bucket account for http://oneloveworldimports.com & http://www.myspace.com/oneloveworldimports so that everybody can check’em out…and if’n anyone wants, they can e-me and buy a print w/out the watermark. That should work out well…plus it’ll give me the ability to get all the other travel photo’s out there, aye?

If OneLoveWorld would’a worked that joint, we would’a raged….BUT…I would’a missed all that great up-front music and fotoz….hummmmm….can I hire someone to break me from the booth so I can wonder ‘bout and shoot the show? Hummmmm….

So far 4 people have e-’d me to get copies of photos of’m at the show…sniff, sniff….is dat money I’z smell?!!! Even if it pushes only 5 people per show to our site, that’ll be worth it, simply cuz the whole fair trade deal-o with our business will catch on sooner ‘r’ later

Crazy crazy time getting there tho….could’a worked the show it turns out, but sarah and I pulled over in a Food Lion parking lot @ half 1 in the am of thurzday….decided on leaving sarah @ hm ta work the internet and myspace thang…and to try to kinda catch up on our office shit….she’s REALLY good at the whole ADMIN thang….I’m good at drivin and talkin to follks…pimpin OneLoveWorld is me gig!! And pimp I did!!

Anywho, found out that had we just kept on drivin, we would’a been able to set up a 10×20 and would’a got crushed….might’a even broke a OneLoveWorld Imports 3 day festi income record…the people and what they wore was more of ‘our people’ than any other show we’ve ever done…even All Good…[which currently holds the record!!]

I ended up getting there ‘round 2100ihs and the clusterfuck had ground to a halt…they held all the cars[even tho the charged an additional 20smackaroo’s for the privilege of campin on ass-fault!! By 1am, I got sick of hearin…”another 20mins. And we’ll let cya go”…so I wondered onto and all round the Lot…found a space right up front, and , noticing that all the security and cops had fallen asleep during the rain…I made my way back to me car, opened up the gate, [nobody was securing it!] and drove unopposed to my spot!!! In fact, during the entire festi, I only got asked to see my bracelet ONCE!!! And that wasn’t a ‘gonna kick ya out if ya don’t got it’ type of challenge….could’a totally saved a buck 70.…ahhh well….it all goes to family and I’m happy to pay anywho!!

I waited till 1800ish on Friday to set me tent cuz I figured[rightly] that it’d just get soaked and what’s the point….besides…I stayed up all nite partying’ anyways [actually fell asleep ‘round 11am to 1300]…by the time I got home Monday mornin’ I had a total of 11 hours sleep from Thursday 8am to Monday!!! Less than I usually get whilst working a festi~!!!! Hummmm….do I still part harder than I work?!!!

I didn’t start really going down front to watch music till the end of Dicky Betts….[I was sayin hi to all my friends and fellow vendors] then, like a dork, I left the 2nd row during the last few songs of Micky Hart to meet up w/me SHE-town hommies….hadda hook’em up to my spot and open the car fer’em….by the time I got back inside and started the long slow crawl down front, Clinton was just finishing up….but that’s OK…I’ve seen George at least 6 times b4, all in small halls too…so it’s cool that some of the youngin’z gotta get sum’a dat up front 2! Now, I’ve never seen Deep Banana Blackout b4.…and OMG can they rock huh…that grrl don’t let up neither!! Got some 300+ photo’s of’em too!!
Towards the end of the show tho, my neck was hurtin SOOOoooooo bad [long story] that I hadta blow out on the last 2 songs and encore, so as to lay the fuck down and get some sleep….which I did…from 2ish till half 7.…more than my usual 4 hour show sleepin stints! [triple alliteration word score!!]

On Saturday, I got into sellin cigs and art from my spot till just b4 Keller…but from Keller on…I was FRONT&CENTER!! Between keller, les and ratdog…I have over 900 fotoz!! Maybe one or 2 of ‘em are insanely cool!! Some of ‘em can [and will] be put together as a .gif-movie kinda thang!!

Well…I’m off ‘at band practice….Roan Caliban….gadzooks can I blog on that path…..I’ll try at finish up on the rest of the Vibes later…

We started off the entire foray by securing 2 day tkts for the show thru Craigslist. [Craigslist freakin rocks, let’me’tell’ya’wat] a woman by the name of Allison had to let hers go at the last moment [fifdy off each tktie 2boot!!] due to a torn calf muskull that she acquired thru a softball game…MUCHO GRACIS 2 ALLISON….we hope your calf heals soon and we’ll be’a shootin’ out all the JPEGS and AVI’S!!!

Then it was off to our friend and WebMASTA’BLASTA, Dylan K’z, who lives in the warehouse district in downtown B-MORE! A wee-bit-o-partin’ and a tad bit of work later, we found ourselves a’wanderin’ down ‘bout Fells Point…did some bar hoppin’ and ended up runnin inta a guy who was workin w/the vendors @ All Good!! He’s been hikin the AT in between Festi’s!! turns out he’s workin Virgin Fest too!! Gotta luv ya some Clean Vibes aye?!!

We got up and hit the subway/shuttle bus to the show….what a cluster fuck that was comin’ home…literally 1000’s of people qued up for 2 buses…Sarah and I are old hats at Bangkok bus loading techniques, and thus we employed ‘em…Sarah tripped [on the bus step as opposed to psychedelics!] right as she was getting on, so I had to [yet again] employ “arms&legs of steel” and block any and all on comers till she got up. Fun. So the next day….we drove!!

Once inside tho [and we could’a totally coped a 2day wrist band w/just a day tkt], we went straight away to the front of the show…we just missed CHEAP TRICK, so we got up front for THE FRATELLIS…got us sum food , agua and liquor drinks, [freakin strong too!! Remember to tip your bartenders!!] and headed back into the meaty crush of INCUBUS, BEN HARPER & THE INNOVENT CRIMINALS, THE BEASTIE BOYS, THE POLICE….AND MODEST MOUSE!!! god dam…my kingdom for my camera!!! The Virgin folk won’t allow ‘professional’ cameras in [and I can dig that] so we didn’t get any shots of the show ‘cept on me shitty mobile….I’ll try at post’em a bit later…[we went and bought a cheap Fuji digi for Sunday’s show’s tho!!]

On Sunday…omg was it great….we missed getting wicked close for SPOON…but from PANIC! AT THE DISCO thru the YEAH YEAH YEAHS, INTERPOL and THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, we’z waz in 3rd row center….pretty much exactly where we was just 24’lil hours b4!!! The crush for the pumpkins was, by far, the most intense…the day b4, there was quite-o-bit of surfin goin down but the vast majority was really folks who were passin out from the heat…it was like 98+ that day…and not a cloud in da sky…beating the heat wasn’t an option if’n your dedicated to being in the 1st few rows….and being an old hat at, [get it…me hat IS old!! J] we were SOOooooo prepared…bookoo water, some snacks…beers…spray on sunblock , and, for me personally, my trusty squirt bottle of the horse liliment, Absorbine. And as Campbell says….it was MMM MMMM GOOD!! My ONLY bitchy complaint was not gettin’ ta see VELVET REVOLVER…that bummed me right out…not that I’m a fan of Slash[dick] or scott weiland…will that’s not true…still a big fan’a da drummer for The Stone Temple Pilots…but it’s always nice at see a fellow addict recover and stay sober…[assuming he is!!]…
